A man is in critical condition after being stabbed at a bus stop in Cork.
The shocking incident happened near Bandon Bridge just before 9am this morning.
It is understood that a row broke out between two men, with one receiving stab wounds.
The victim, a man in his 20s, ran from the scene before dropping to the ground due to his injuries, Cork Beo reports.
Emergency services were called to the scene with paramedics attending to the man before taking him to Cork University Hospital.
The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination.
Gardai are reportedly searching the river for a possible weapon.
A man in his 40s, who was known to the victim, was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Bandon Garda Station.
