A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in a fight in Harehills in the early hours of this morning.
The 38-year-old was found in Harehills Lane, near its junction with Bayswater Mount, with a serious abdominal wound at 2.39am.
He was taken to hospital for emergency treatment and is in a critical condition.
Police have and a white forensics tent has been placed at the scene.
Police are manning the cordon which has cut off several residential streets from the main road.
Traffic is being diverted around the affected section of Harehills Road and several businesses within the cordon have not opened this morning.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A scene is in place in Harehills Road to undergo forensic examination and searches and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
"Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID quoting log 109 of May 3."
