Police officers found an e-scooter close to where the man had been lying about 3.40pm and believe he was riding with a friend before he crashed.

The man suffered serious injuries and was treated by passers-by and paramedics from the ACT Ambulance Service at the scene.

The patient was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who saw the incident or had dash-cam footage of a man riding an e-scooter in near Barr Smith Avenue about 3.30pm on Friday afternoon.

Anyone who could help investigators has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers ACT, quoting reference number 8458727.
