Man in court charged with inciting young girl into sexual activity

A man faced city magistrates on five charges including one of inciting a 14-year-old girl to get involved in sexual activity.

No bail application was made on behalf of Alec Parkin, 44, of Lacey Green, Balderton. He was remanded in custody to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on July 1.

The incitement charge covers dates between January 1 last year and May 19 this year. Over the same period, he is accused of seeking to communicate with a girl under 16 for sexualised chat.

Parkin is also charged with making three indecent photographs of a child.

Sanjay Jerath, prosecuting, told the three magistrates that the offences can only be handled finally at a crown court.

Miss Nikki Carlisle, defending, represented Parkin.
