Man in court after Dumbarton cyclist dies in collision

A Dumbarton cyclist has died after a road collision near Cardross on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened at around 4.40pm on the A814 close to the village with 44-year-old Colin McCourt pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses including those in a number of vehicles who stopped to provide assistance.

In particular, police are appealing for anyone with dash cam to check their footage as it may have captured footage which could assist our enquiries.

The road was closed for several hours as crash scene investigators conducted enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call road policing officers via 101, quoting incident number 2367 of November 10.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences and appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court yesterday (Wednesday).
