Man in court after damaging woman's kettle in Bristol city centre

A man was ordered to pay £240 after damaging a woman's kettle, TV and cooker in Bristol city centre.

Spencer Dor-Smythe, 46, intentionally damaged the items on October 27 in the Prewett Street block of flats where he lives.

The court heard that on the same date he behaved in a threatening, abusive or insulting way to a police sergeant on Prewett Street and to a police constable on Gloucester Road.

Dor-Smythe admitted the offences on November 18 at Bristol Magistrates' Court.

He was ordered to do 42 days of rehab and pay £240, which will be deducted from his benefits.

The penalty breaks down to £150 in compensation to the police officers and a £90 victim surcharge.
