A man appeared in court accused of murdering his own mum.
Andrew Tinton, 54, faced one count of murder relating to the death of Rose Marie Tinton earlier this year.
Mrs Tinton was found dead at her home on Folkestone Road in Southport when police visited to inform her of injuries sustained by her son on January 29.

Andrew Tinton, formerly of Folkestone Road, had sustained serious injuries and was unable to be questioned for several months but was eventually charged last month.
He made a first court appearance in Liverpool on Thursday and, with the case too serious to be dealt with at the lower court, the matter was adjourned for a plea hearing at Liverpool Crown Court on December 3.
Tinton was remanded and will return to a secure medical facility until that date.
