Police are hunting a trio of men who attacked their victim with weapons on the street.
The 45-year-old man was walking on Beechwood Drive in Coatbridge around 910pm on Wednesday, September 29, when he was attacked.
He was rushed to University Hospital, Monklands where he received treatment for a serious head injury.

Detective Constable Paul James from Coatbridge Police Station said: “We believe this was a targeted attack and there is no risk to the wider public.
“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or may have dashcam footage to get in touch via 101 quoting incident reference number 3504 of 29 September 21.”
