A car was deliberately set on fire in the early hours of Friday morning in the south side of Glasgow, leaving Police Scotland searching for more information.

The man is thought to have been wearing a black hoodie with the hood up, also sporting a pair of shorts.

Appealing for more information from the public, Detective Constable Kris Elliot from the Govan Police Office said the crime was dangerous and that it was fortunate nobody was hurt.

He said:  “Deliberately setting fire to a car is dangerous and reckless and it is lucky that nobody was injured.

“We have been checking CCTV and making door to door enquiries to try to trace the person responsible but are now appealing to anyone who may know anything about this incident to get in touch with us.

“Think back, do you remember seeing or hearing anything in the early hours of Friday morning in the Glenspean Street area? Or do you have personal home CCTV or dash-cam footage that might be able to help us?

“We urge you to get in touch.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 0370 of Friday 17 May 2019.
