Man in 90s in hospital after bus smashes into parked car - there were a number of 'walking wounded'

A man in his 90s was rushed to hospital after a bus smashed into a parked car in Stockport.

Emergency services were called to the A6 Buxton Road in High Lane just after midday on Wednesday.

Images from the scene show the dramatic aftermath of the collision.

The front of the bus - thought to be the 199 Skyline service from Buxton to Manchester Airport - appears to have been wiped out in the smash, with debris - including the passenger door - scattered across the road.

A man, understood to be in his 90s, was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be serious, but he is understood to have been suffering with chest pains.
