Man in 60s suffers serious injures after falling from ladder 'while painting'

A man in his late 60s suffered a serious head injury and was rushed to hospital after he fell from a ladder at a city home.

The accident happened five days ago at an address on Long Lane in Garston.

Residents, who described the man as a "lovely fella" said his fall took place while he was painting the outside of the house.

An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene and landed closeby on the park area close to the Lifestyles Sports Centre.

A road ambulance also attended the property, along with a rapid response vehicle, and the man was treated at the scene.

He was then taken to Aintree Hospital where his latest condition is unknown.
