Man in 60s killed in M60 horror crash involving motorcycle and lorry

A man has been killed in a horror crash on the M60, police have confirmed.

The man, in his 60s, was 'pronounced dead as a result of injuries' following a collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a motorcycle on the motorway slip road at the Simister Island Interchange in Bury on Sunday afternoon (September 26).

Police were called to reports of the crash at about 4.20pm yesterday.

The motorway and roundabout were closed for several hours as investigations began.

Officers, firefighters and paramedics all attended the scene.

The man's next of kin has been informed and a file has been passed the coroner, Greater Manchester Police said in an update this morning.

No arrests have yet been made.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are now appealing for anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to get in touch.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers were called at around 4.20pm on Sunday (26 September) to a report of a collision between a heavy goods vehicle and a motorcycle on the M60 slip road at the Simister Island Interchange in Bury.

"Emergency services attended and a man in his 60s was sadly pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
