Man in 50s suffers head injury after being hit by car in Oldham

A man in his 50s suffered a head injury after he was hit by a car in Oldham.

The smash happened on Rochdale Road outside Royton Library on Thursday morning.

The man's injuries were minor, a GMP spokesman said.

No one was arrested and the driver stayed at the scene.

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called shortly before 10.30am this morning (Thursday) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Rochdale Road, Royton.

"The pedestrian suffered minor injuries.

"The driver remained at the scene."

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service confirmed the patient was a man in his 50s.

She said: "We were called at 10.17am and attended with an ambulance. The collision was between a car and a pedestrian.

"We have taken a man in his late 50s to hospital."
