Man in 30s found dead outside House of Fraser as police investigation launched

A man has been found dead outside of House of Fraser in Lincoln city centre, police have said.

A cordon was set up outside the store this morning, Monday, July 6 with police and an ambulance crew in attendance.

East Midlands Police have now revealed that the taping off came after a 34-year-old man found to have died outside the shop.

Officers are now investigating the 'unexplained' death but confirmed they are not treating it as suspicious.

The deceased man was named locally as Lee Hunter as tributes flooded in for him on social media.

A friend who was close to Lee growing up said: "We were childhood friends and I saw him occasionally in adulthood but we both took different paths.

"We went to junior school together and hung around.

"He'd try anything for a laugh."

Timmy Baxter said: "R.I.P Lee fly high buddy life so cruel at times."

A force spokesperson said earlier today: “We are investigating the sudden death of a man who was found deceased outside the House of Fraser at 9am today.

“Officers and paramedics attended and the man in his 30s was confirmed dead.

“A police cordon was put in place this morning but has since been removed.

“Investigations are ongoing and we will release an update when one is available.”
