Man in 20s dies after being hit by train at Giffnock station in Glasgow's south side

A man in his 20s has tragically died after being hit by a train at Giffnock station.

Emergency services were called to the scene in the south side of Glasgow yesterday morning.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police say the incident isn't being treated as suspicious.

A BTP spokesperson said: "British Transport Police were called at 8.48am on 13/12 to Giffnock station following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

"Officers attended but sadly a person, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

"A report is in the process of being prepared for the Procurator Fiscal."
