A man was punched repeatedly by someone who nearly hit him with a vehicle Monday in what police are calling a road rage attack in the Heart of Chicago on the South Side.
The 30-year-old was crossing 21st Place about 9:30 a.m. at Damen Avenue when he was almost hit by the gray vehicle, according to Chicago police.
The driver then got out and punched the man in the face several times before pulling out a knife and trying to hit the man with it, police said. The attacker then got back into the vehicle and drove away.
The victim declined medical attention, police said. Area Central detectives are investigating.
