Man hurt by falling glass in the Loop

A man was injured July 5, 2019, by a falling piece of glass from a building in the 200 block of North Michigan Avenue in the Loop.

A man was injured by falling glass Friday while workers were replacing windows on a building in the Loop.

The 41-year-old was walking about 10:15 a.m. in the 200 block of North Michigan Avenue when a piece of glass fell and put an inch-long gash on his head, according to Chicago police.

Workers were replacing glass in windows above him when a piece broke off from a pane and fell, police said. The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was stabilized.

The scene was secured and the sidewalk reopened by about 10:50 a.m., according to police. No other injuries were reported.
