A 33-year-old man was hospitalized Saturday after a house fire in west suburban Batavia.
Emergency crews were dispatched just before 4 a.m. to the 300 block of State Street, where they found a fire burning at the back of a house, the Batavia Fire Department said,
Everyone was out of the house by the time fire crews got there, but a 33-year-old man had suffered burns and had to be airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center, fire officials said. His condition was not immediately known.
Fire crews got into the house and brought the fire under control within about 20 minutes, fire officials said. No other injuries were reported.
The Batavia Fire Department is investigating the blaze.
