A man has been hospitalised following a large scale disturbance at a Lanarkshire home.
The injured 35-year-old was rushed to Wishaw General after emergency services flocked to the scene on Dean Crescent, Hamilton.
He suffered serious injuries and received treatment in hospital, with cops being called to the incident at around 5.45am on Saturday, January 1.
Police arrested a man in connection with the incident, which took place in the early hours of New Year's Day, but the 37-year-old was has since been let go pending further enquiries.
Witnesses reported a heavy police presence in the area throughout the day as a house in the street was cordoned off.
Specialist forensics officers were spotted looking for evidence and taking photographs inside the property.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Lanarkshire Live about the incident.
She said : “Officers were called to reports of a large scale disturbance which resulted in a man suffering serious injuries at Dean Crescent, Hamilton about 5.45am on Saturday, 1 January.
“The 35-year-old man was taken to Wishaw General for treatment.
“A 37-year-old man was arrested and released pending further enquiries.”
