Man hospitalised with 'serious' face injuries after Glasgow street attack

A man was hospitalised after being attacked on a Glasgow street last night.

The 33-year-old was treated for serous facial injuries after the assault on Panmure Street.

Emergency services raced to the scene at around 6.20pm and cops locked down the street between Wester Common Drive and Balglass Street for hours.

The man was rushed to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

It is unclear if he remains in hospital. 

Glasgow City Council told drivers of the road closure at around 7.53pm.

The road was eventually reopened shortly after midnight on Monday.

A police spokesman told the Record that enquires were continuing.

He said: “We were called around 6.20pm on Sunday, October 11, to a report of an assault in the Panmure Street area of Glasgow.

“A 33-year-old man sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.”
