Man hospitalised with head wounds after assault in Dublin suburb

A man has been hospitalised following an assault in Ballyfermot on Sunday morning.

The injured man sustained wounds to his head and was taken to St James Hospital. His injuries are said to be non-life threatening.

A man in his thirties has been arrested and is currently detained in Clondalkin Garda Station.

A spokesperson for the Gardai said: "Gardaí attended the scene of an assault in the Ballyfermot area of Co Dublin this morning, October 24 2021. A male had received a number of wounds to his head during the incident. He was taken to St James’s Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries."

"A man (30s) has since been arrested by Gardaí and is currently detained at Clondalkin Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act (1984). Investigations ongoing."
