Man hospitalised following clash involving 'large number of youths' on Dublin bridge

A young man has been taken to hospital with stab wounds after gangs of teens clashed in Dublin city centre.

Gardai have said that the row involved dozens of teens and broke out on Beckett Bridge near the Convention Centre earlier this evening.

The victim is understood to have been stabbed in the leg during the fracas.

Several units from Store Street and Pearse Street garda stations remain at the scene.

The teen was taken to the Mater Hospital where his injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

In a statement, the Gardai said: "Garda Units from Store Street and Pearse Street Garda Stations are currently responding to a public order incident involving a large number of youths.

"The incident occurred on the Samuel Beckett Bridge, Dublin City Centre this evening, Monday 22nd March 2021. A male has been taken to the Mater Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

"No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing. No further information is available at this time."
