Man hospitalised and two arrested following assault on Glasgow's south side

A man was hospitalised following an assault in the Shawlands area of Glasgow in the early hours of this morning.

Police received a report of a 27-year-old man being assaulted in Kilmarnock Road, near to Coustonholm Road around 2am.

Officers attended and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident, with police confirming that enquiries into what happened ongoing.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Around 2am on Wednesday, 3 June, 2020, police received a report of a 27-year-old man being assaulted in Kilmarnock Road, near to Coustonholm Road, Shawlands.

"Officers attended and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

"Two men have been arrested and enquiries are ongoing."
