A man has been hospitalised after taking unwell on a busy M8 slip road.
The incident occurred on the slip heading east at Junction 16 in Glasgow at around 4.40pm on Wednesday August 18.
The man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary but his current condition remains unknown.
Police officers attended the scene and initially closed-off the slip road in question.
Traffic in the area was heavy as a result and drivers were diverted via the A804, according to Traffic Scotland.
They were also encouraged to take alternative routes if possible. However, the road was later re-opened at around 6.55pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A man took unwell in a vehicle on the slip road on the M8 eastbound at junction 16 in Glasgow around 4.40pm on Wednesday, 18 August, 2021.
"Officers were in attendance and the man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The slip road re-opened at 6.55pm.”
