A man has died after a stabbing in a Newcastle suburb on Saturday, July 11.
Police and paramedics were called to Hamilton South about 3.30pm where they found a man believed to have been aged in his 40s with a serious stab wound.
He was seen by paramedics and rushed to John Hunter Hospital where he died shortly after arriving, police said in a statement late Saturday night.
Officers were investigating the the scene, which police said would be subject to forensic examination.
The State Crime Command's Homicide Squad has been enlisted to assist local detectives.
