Man hospitalised after serious assault in East Kilbride

Spcialist police are asking for help after a man was hospitalised following an attack in East Kilbride.

The 23-year-old man was jumped on the path at Stratford, near to Salisbury, last Saturday (July 24).

Investigating officers say he was taken to Hairmyres Hospital for a head injury after being seriously assaulted.

The incident happened around 11.30pm.

DC Ashley Hind told Lanarkshire Live : “We have been carrying out enquiries into this incident, including viewing local CCTV footage to gather more information.

“I am now appealing for the assistance of the public and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have seen the suspect in the area around the time of the incident to contact police.”

The suspect is described as white, in his early 20s, with short, dark-coloured hair, and was wearing a red top at the time of the attack.

He was last seen heading in the direction of Neville with two other people.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident should call police on 101.

Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
