Man hospitalised after serious assault in Bonhill

Police are appealing for information after an 18-year-old man was rushed to hospital after a violent assault in Alexandria.

The victim was attacked at 1am on Thursday (June 18) in Third Avenue, Bonhill, during a confrontation with two men who were reported to have been armed with a baseball bat and a knife.

He was taken to the Paisley’s RAH for treatment on a head injury.

Detective Constable Thomas O’Donnell at Clydebank CID said: “The men responsible for this assault are described as white and in their 30s or 40s, one of them had a beard and one was wearing a grey tracksuit.

“They ran from Third Avenue towards Golfhill Drive and from there in the direction of Sandbank Crescent and I would appeal to anyone with any information which can help this inquiry to contact Clydebank CID on 101, quoting the reference number 0171 18/06

“Alternatively if you wish to give information anonymously, please contact CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111. “
