Man hospitalised after late night attack in Moodiesburn

A man was hospitalised with serious injuries after he was attacked by a “group of eight or nine” men.

Now police in Lanarkshire are asking for help to trace those responsible.

The incident happened in the Bridgeburn Drive areas of Moodiesburn around 10.30pm on Friday (April 23).

The 33-year-old victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to injuries to his arms and head.

Detective Constable Lyndsay McKinnon told Lanarkshire Live: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have been in the area around that time to come forward.

“I would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage.”

DC McKinnon said the men were ‘all dressed in dark clothing with their hoods up’ and they left in an unknown direction following the attack.

Anyone with any information is asked to call cops on 101.

Information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
