Man hospitalised after late night attack in Glasgow city centre

A man was taken to hospital after being attacked in Glasgow city centre in the early hours of this morning.

The 39-year-old suffered facial injuries in the incident, which occurred on Gordon Street near to Buchanan Street shortly before 1am.

Police confirmed that the man was taken to hospital by ambulance as a result of his injuries.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We received a call around 00:45am on Saturday, March 7, to a report of an assault in the Gordon Street area of Glasgow.

"A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital by ambulance with facial injuries.

"Enquiries are ongoing".
