This is the shocking moment a car faces oncoming traffic following a crash near to the busy Queensferry Crossing.
Stunned motorists noticed the silver hatchback stopped and facing into traffic on the crowded road into Edinburgh.
A video seen by the Daily Record shows a man climb out of the motor as cars and even a lorry pass him on the carriageway.
The footage appears to show the front of the car having sustained some form of damage.
Police have confirmed they received reports of a crash on the road and one man was taken into hospital.
Vehicle recovery is now taking place.
Locals have reported online that there have been delays near the busy bridge which links Edinburgh with Fife and the north of Scotland.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.45pm on Friday, 8 October, officers were called to the M90 southbound near junction 1, following a report of a single-car crash.
"One man has been taken to hospital for treatment and the road is partially blocked as recovery is arranged.”
