Man hospitalised after falling onto tracks at Glasgow train station

A man has been hospitalised after falling onto train tracks at a Glasgow train station.

Emergency services have swooped on Hillington East Railway Station after a person became injured on the rails.

Mercy crews are currently on the scene between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour Street.

Public transport has been disrupted as trains towards Paisley are unable to call at Cardonald, Hillington East and Hillington West.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Police were called to the area of Hillington East Railway Station around 2.05pm on Sunday, 26 July, following a report that a man had been injured on the track.

"The man has been taken to hospital and Police Scotland is liaising with British Transport Police."

A spokesperson for Scotrail said: "The emergency services are currently dealing with an incident near the railway between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour Street.

"Trains towards Paisley are currently unable to call at Cardonald, Hillington East and Hillington West."
