A man is in hospital after a 'disturbance' at a Scots retail park.

Police scrambled to the car park outside KFC in Greenock, Inverclyde on Saturday afternoon.

The retail park car park, off Custom House Quay, was cordoned off after officers received reports of a disturbance just before 2pm.

A 64-year-old man was found 'seriously unwell' at the scene.

He was rushed to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment.

His current condition is yet to be confirmed.

It is unknown if the discovery of the ill man is linked to the reported disturbance.

Enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a disturbance at a retail park on Custom House Way, Greenock, around 1.55pm on Saturday, September 26.

"A 64-year-old man was found seriously unwell and has been taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital by ambulance.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
