Man hospitalised after crash involving cyclist in east Bristol

A man has been taken to hospital following a crash between a cyclist and a vehicle in east Bristol.

Ambulance crews were called to Church Road at around 8.30am today (February 19).

South Western Ambulance Service confirmed a cyclist was involved in a collision with another vehicle in the road.

A male patient was treated at the scene and then taken to hospital for further care.

An ambulance spokesman told Bristol Live: "We were called at 8.36am about a collision reportedly involving a cyclist and another vehicle on Church Road.

"We treated a male patient and transported him to hospital for further care."

A witness who saw the aftermath of the crash said: "I was walking past and saw a cyclist in the road, he was trying to get up and was struggling.

"An ambulance got there just as I was walking past at about 8.45am."
