Man hospitalised after crash between motorcyclist and lorry

A man has been taken to hospital following a crash involving a motorcycle and a lorry.

Long Ashton Road was partially blocked this morning (April 26) following the collision just after 8am.

First Bus confirmed services were diverted and an eyewitness said police officers were on scene to manage traffic.

A picture from the scene showed a damaged motorbike with a learner plate on it.

The crash happened close to the Angel Inn. Traffic had cleared by around 10am.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.06am to attend an incident reportedly involving a motorbike and a lorry on Long Ashton Road, Bristol.

"A male patient was taken to hospital by ambulance."
