Man hospitalised after being knocked down 'by taxi' on busy Scots high street

A man has been hospitalised after being knocked down 'by a taxi' in Perth.

The 39-year-old was rushed to Ninewells Hospital after being mowed down in a busy high street this afternoon.

Ambulance crews and police swarmed the scene before removing the casualty.

One eye witness told the Daily Record they saw the man being 'hit by a taxi'.

The man is believed to be in a stable condition recovering from non life threatening injuries.

Police are continuing their investigations into the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 2pm on Friday, 26 March, to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

"A 39-year-old man, the pedestrian, has been taken to Ninewells Hospital.”
