A man was left hospitalised following two fire attacks in Ayrshire over the weekend.
Detectives have launched an investigation following the deliberate blazes in the early hours of Saturday morning — both in Auchinleck.
Emergency services raced to Arran Drive at 4.45am where there were reports of a fire at a property.
A man was taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment and was later released.
And 20 minutes earlier, at 4.25am, cops were called to a report of a shed on fire on Church Street — less than half-a-mile away from Arran Drive.
There were no reports of any injuries but a vehicle was damaged during the blaze.
Cops confirmed today that both fires are being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Sarah Holland said: “Thankfully no one was seriously injured as a result of these incidents.
“There is nothing to suggest that these incidents are linked but enquiries are ongoing.
“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to get in touch.
“I would also appeal for anyone with dashcam footage or CCTV to review it and get in touch if they believe they can assist.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and anyone with concerns are asked to report them to officers.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 0738 of September 4.
