Man horrified after discovering 'long black hair' in Tesco Christmas Day basted turkey

A man was horrified when he opened his Christmas turkey to discover a "long black hair" and a bad smell.

Adie Hall shared his disgust on Twitter with pictures of the Tesco turkey after he had removed the packaging ready to cook the bird for Christmas dinner yesterday.

The disappointed man from Hull, East Yorks, paid £19 for the basted turkey which was pictured with a long dark hair plastered across the top.

Not only this but Adie claimed that the bird "smelt off" and was forced to throw it in the bin.

Adie received a response from Tesco communications team member Kayley, who admitted it was not up to expectations.

She said: "Hi Adie, thank you for getting back to us.

"I can only imagine how disappointing this would be and it isn't what we would expect at all.

"Please may I ask you to return the packaging, any samples and your receipt to the store customer service desk at your nearest opportunity so that we provide you the best resolution and this can be fully investigated?

"If you no longer have your receipt but scanned a Clubcard or paid by card, my colleagues on the customer service desk can use either card to produce a copy receipt."

Unfortunately with shops closed on Christmas Day, Adie and his guests were forced to settle for just pigs in blankets and vegetables as their festive meal.

Adie said the veg "was the best bit" of the more limited meal he ended up having.
