Man holds staff at knifepoint and demands money in Dublin attempted robbery

A man stormed a Dublin shop this morning and demanded money from staff while holding a knife, according to gardai.

The attempted robbery happened at a premises in the Cardiffsbridge Road area of Finglas this morning, just before 11am.

A man, who is in his 40's, was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported and no property was taken during the incident.

A garda spokesperson told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an attempted robbery at a premises in the Cardiffsbridge Road area of Finglas this morning, just before 11am.

"A man entered the premises and demanded money from staff whilst holding a knife.

"The man, aged in his 40s, was arrested at the scene by Gardaí. He is currently being detained at Blanchardstown Garda station.

"No injuries were reported and no property was taken."
