A man was hit over the head with a hammer outside of a bar in a completely unprovoked attack.
Cheshire Police rushed to the junction of Rectory Lane and Pepper Street in Lymm Village, Warrington, at around midnight on July 24 after an assault. A man, who was stood outside a bar in the village was approached by a complete stranger, who attempted to hit him over the head with a hammer.
The suspect then fled the scene towards The Cross past the Golden Fleece in Lymm Village. The victim suffered minor cuts as a result of the assault.

Officers investigating the incident have issued a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to, as they believe he could have information to help their case.
Police Constable James Gibbison said: “This is a totally unprovoked attack and we are doing all we can to find the person responsible. Thankfully the man only sustained minor injuries but it could have been a lot worse.
“I am appealing to anyone who may know the man in the CCTV or the man himself to come forward. The same goes to anyone who may have information about the incident but has not yet spoken to police.”
