A 52-year-old Carpentersville man was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday while crossing a street near another crash in Hoffman Estates.
Officers were at the scene of a crash about 6:45 p.m. near Higgins and Beverly roads when the man not involved in the crash tried to cross Higgins, police said in a statement.
The man was hit by a vehicle and taken to Lutheran General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Neither alcohol or drugs appeared to be a factor in the crash, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about the fatality.
