Man hit by vehicle, seriously hurt in Orland Park

A 24-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday in suburban Orland Park.

He was walking in the roadway about 12:10 a.m. when he was struck by a southbound Ford Focus in the 17500 block of Wolf Road, according to a statement from Orland Park police.

The man was taken by paramedics to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, police said. The driver was uninjured.

Police said the crash was still under investigation.
