A man was left with injuries to his leg after a cab driver reportedly mounted the kerb to hit him following an argument.
The victim, a 34-year-old man, was walking along East Prescot Road towards Eaton Road, West Derby when he got into an argument with a taxi driver.
As the man walked away, the black Hackney driver is believed to have got back into his cab, turned at a nearby roundabout and mounted the kerb to hit him.
The incident occurred on Bank Holiday Monday 26 August earlier this year and caused the victim to sustain injuries to his leg.
Police have today issued a photograph of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the assault, as they believe he could have information.
The photo shows a man in an off-licence wearing a blue Under Armour t-shirt, dark shorts and white trainers.
Officers are hoping that the image will help them with their investigation into the incident.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We have issued these CCTV stills as we believe the man pictured could have some vital information that could assist enquiries into an assault in West Derby in August.
"We were called at 10.20pm on Bank Holiday Monday 26 August to a report a 34-year-old man was walking along East Prescot Road toward Eaton Road when he got into a very brief altercation with another man, who had been driving a Hackney can moments earlier.
"The man continued to walk in the direction of Eaton Road and the other man got back into his black Hackney cab.
"It is believed the same driver then turned at the nearby roundabout, before mounting the kerb twice and making contact with the victim, causing him to sustain and leg injury.
"Officers have carried out a number of enquiries including the analysis of CCTV footage.
