An 82-year-old cyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on the A65 in Guiseley.
The man was cycling on New Road at about 10.50am today (Fri) when he was hit by a blue Ford Fiesta outside Morrisons petrol station, according to police. The road was closed in both directions for a number of hours and an air ambulance was seen landing at the scene.
The elderly man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Fiesta was uninjured.

West Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward and have asked anyone who has relevant footage to call the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference 0566 of July 22.
