Man hit by car and airlifted to hospital with serious injuries in Leeds

An 82-year-old cyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on the A65 in Guiseley.

The man was cycling on New Road at about 10.50am today (Fri) when he was hit by a blue Ford Fiesta outside Morrisons petrol station, according to police. The road was closed in both directions for a number of hours and an air ambulance was seen landing at the scene.

The elderly man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Fiesta was uninjured.
