Man high on ice when he drove over woman's leg while doing burnouts at Caboolture, court told

A 27-year-old man has admitted to being high on the drug ice when he rammed through the front gate of a property north of Brisbane and ran over a 47-year-old woman, police say.

Harley Mobbs appeared in the Caboolture Magistrates Court this morning charged with attempted murder.

The court was told Mr Mobbs was doing burnouts at the front of the Caboolture property, where he used to live, when he ran over the woman late on Saturday night.

She sustained significant leg injuries, with a police prosecutor telling the court the victim's foot had been "minced" in the incident.

The woman was transported to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and has since undergone surgery.

The court heard Mr Mobbs was homeless and had admitted to taking ice earlier that day.

He had previously lived in a shed on the property.

His lawyer argued Mr Mobbs should be granted bail because he ran a concreting business and his former partner and the mother of his children had offered to give him a place to stay.

Magistrate Andrew Hackett made no ruling on bail and said he wanted to see how Mr Mobbs planned to address his drug problems.

Mr Mobbs is due to appear in court again on Thursday.
