Man hides 'exploding glitter stink bomb' in fake Amazon package to catch thieves

Last year, a YouTuber hit the headlines , after he built an exploding glitter bomb in an Amazon package, in the hopes of catching out thieves.

Now, Mark Rober is at it again, and has added a stink bomb to the exploding package, as well as a police soundtrack.

His new video, called ‘Porch Pirate vs. Glitter Bomb Trap 2.0’, was posted three days ago, but has already raked in a whopping 17.7 million views.

In the video, he explains: “My friend Sean and I have spent the last 10 months designing, building and testing a new and improved design for 2019.”

The fake packages look like they contain headphones, but actually feature four cameras, a pound of glitter, a disgusting stink bomb, and a speaker that plays police sound effects.

Having built the fake packages, Mr Rober left 10 on various porches across the US.

Some good samaritans discovered the packages, and called the number on them to ensure they reached the right recipient.

However, several others took the packages home and opened them, at which point they were bombarded with fart spray and glitter.

In one video captured from a stolen package, two men can be seen opening the package and being blasted with blue glitter.

The men said: “Whoa! F*** that bro! Dude that did not just happen! I was just about to like try and find this dude too.”

While Mr Rober’s video is simply a bit of fun, he hopes that it will deter thieves in the future.
