A man who hid crack cocaine in his pants has been jailed after he was caught by police officers in a car.
Raverne Soloman, 23, was travelling in a car which was stopped by police in Alfreton Road in Nottingham city centre on Wednesday July 8, 2020.
When officers spoke to the occupants of the car, Soloman was seen moving his hands to his waistband. He was taken by officers to a police station where 60 wraps of crack cocaine were found in his underwear, as well as £750 cash in his pocket.
Soloman, of no fixed address, was jailed for two years and five months at Nottingham Crown Court on Monday, November 2, after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property at an earlier hearing.
Police Sergeant Steve King, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was great proactive police work where stopping the car led to Soloman’s arrest and a large quantity of drugs being recovered.
"An incredibly thorough investigation led to Soloman having no real option but to plead guilty at court.
“We know the destructive impact which drugs can have on our communities, which is why our officers are always on the lookout for anything suspicious which could help them to disrupt the supply.
“I’m glad we were able to put Soloman before the courts and hold him responsible for his actions.”
