Man held in Kochi for cheating job aspirants

KOCHI: Maradu police on Tuesday arrested a 45-year-old man for allegedly cheating job aspirants by promising to get them permanent placements by pretending to be the relative of health minister Veena George.

The arrested has been identified as Sanoj Abraham (45) of Kozhencherry in Pathanamthitta. Police said that he had collected certificates of temporary workers at a primary health centre and promised to get them permanent placements. The workers petitioned the minister who in turn forwarded it to the Maradu police. The accused was produced before the court and was remanded in custody. tnn
