Man arrested for hoax bomb call in Lucknow wanted to take revenge from 'wife’s lover'

LUCKNOW: Police on Sunday arrested a Sitapur man from Banda who was accused of making a call to UP 112 on July 7 stating that the "lover" of his wife had planted a bomb at Hazratganj metro station.

Ramesh Shukla (36) confessed that he had no ill intention and just wanted to teach a lesson to his wife’s reported lover with whom she had eloped.

Shukla’s call about a bomb at Hazratganj Metro station had kept the cops on their toes for hours.

SHO, Kalinjar, Hemraj Saroj, said during the probe it was revealed that Ramesh had some grudge against Dinesh Tiwari and Om Prakash Tiwari.

He suspected that Dinesh had illicit relations with his wife and had a role in her elopement.

"So, he concocted a story that Dinesh and Om Prakash had planted a bomb at the metro station. However, during the probe it turned out to be false. Ramesh was arrested as he tried to disturb peace and spread terror among the public," the SHO said.

The police said Ramesh’s wife had left him last year as he was not earning and used to spend the money earned by her.

Police added that first they detained Dinesh Tiwari of Karwi area. But he was let off after cops found him to be clean. Later, cops searched Ramesh Shukla whose location was found to be in Banda from where he was arrested.
