Man held at knifepoint in attempted robbery has hand slashed by mugger in Belfast

A man was held at knifepoint during an attempted robbery in Belfast yesterday.

Detectives are investigating after a man sustained a slash wound to his hand during what's believed to have been an attempted robbery in north Belfast.

The victim had driven into Estoril Park at around 2.20am on Saturday June 27 when he was approached by an unknown male brandishing a knife.

This male demanded the victim had over his valuables and when the victim refused the suspect slashed at his hand with the knife before running off.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who noticed the victim's gold VW in the area at around that time. Please call 101, quoting reference 240 27/06/20.
