Man has glass thrown into his face in homophobic attack in Stratford

A man was hit by a thrown glass following a homophobic assault in east London, police have said as they launched an appeal to identify the attacker.

The victim, 20, was at a bar in The Grove in Stratford with friends on August 19.

At approximately 11pm, he was approached by a white male who began to make homophobic comments as he verbally abused him.

Despite moving to another table, the victim was then struck by a glass on the chin and was taken to hospital requiring stitches at around midnight.

Officers have released footage of the incident as part of an appeal to identify the suspect.

Anyone with information or anyone who may know the identity of the man in the CCTV should call 101 and quote reference 434/20AUG.
